Rochester Art Fair

Ann will be exhibiting 3rd to 5th May at the second Rochester Art Fair. This is an exciting event providing art lovers, art collectors and the local community based in Kent, Surrey, Sussex, London and the surrounding areas, with the opportunity to browse and buy beautiful, original artwork and interact directly with artists from across the UK and Europe.

The Magic of the Sea

Ann is returning to Gallery 2 at The Horsebridge Centre, Whitstable with a solo exhibition celebrating the Magic of the Sea. Wednesday 10th April 2024 to Monday 22nd April 2024

Ann paints the land, sea and sky and is returning to Gallery 2 at The Horsebridge Centre, Whitstable with a solo exhibition celebrating the magic of the ocean. Wednesday 10th April 2024 to Monday 22nd April 2024. 9am – 5pm Monday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm Sunday and closed Tuesdays.

There is something magical about the ocean. The constant movement and change, with rolling waves and rise and fall of the daily tides, the sound of the ocean, the smell of the water. Ann paints the land, sea and sky in oils on both large and small canvases, focussing on the state of the tide and weathers at various times of day and year, inspired by painting on the beach, sketches, photos and just being there. Ann draws her inspiration from the coasts of Kent and Cornwall; many paintings are inspired by the beaches in Whitstable.

The Horsebridge provides a vibrant arts centre at the heart of our community, a public space that aims to enrich the lives of local people by encouraging them to access, enjoy and be challenged by arts activities both as participants and audience. By providing creative and cultural activities we aim to combat isolation and promote well-being.

Open 6 days a week and welcome over 90,000 local people and visitors to the area through our doors each year. Every week there are over 40 different classes, every month there are films, artist talks and clubs, and in one year we can feature over 100 artists in 35+ exhibitions.

Ann will be at Bath Art Fair

Ann will be exhibiting her Seascape Oil Paintings at the Bath Art Fair 23-25 February in Bath Pavilion. Tickets are available on line; looking forward to seeing you.

Just like last year I shall be in this beautiful city, near my home town where I grew up, exhibiting February 23-25 tickets are available now here.

Preparing for more exhibitions!

Ann is already preparing for her POP Up Solo exhibition at Lilford Framing Gallery in Castle St, Canterbury. Paintings are stacked in the Dining Room ready for the car, and a hanging plan is forming.

Whilst the group exhibition at Bluewater is just opening, I am already thinking about next week and getting all my oil paintings ready for the Lilford Framing Gallery in Castle St Canterbury; this is a POP UP exhibition, a solo, and I shall be there in the Gallery all the time, Monday 4th December when I am hanging until Saturday 9th 5pm take down time. I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people, this is my first exhibition in Canterbury and it is accessible for everyone in the South East of Kent.

Paintings are stacked in the Dining Room ready for the car, and a hanging plan is forming. This is going to be a big exhibition, it is a lovely space and will take about twenty of my paintings, nothing but the best!

Show Off Gallery

Ann will be holding a Pop Up Gallery at 13, Harbour Street, Whitstable from Friday 13th October for a week.

Do make time to ‘pop in’ and see her, see her latest paintings, her sketch books, have a chat. Paintings, prints, cards for sale.

It will be Kent Open Houses while I am there, as part of this I shall have a special painting in the exhibition in 39 Whitstable Cafe/ Restaurant so take a look!

A Summer of Painting!

A summer of painting, following visits to Cornwall painting and sketching and walking and photographing the beautiful landscspes

I have just returned from my second visit to St Ives this summer and am looking forward now to getting on with some new work, feeling inspired by my visit to the prestigious Penwith Gallery and to several galleries in St Ives and to Kurt Jackson’s Gallery in St Just.

I am armed with new sketches and photos and lots of ideas, so watch this space.

I shall be exhibiting at the Rochester Art Fair October 6-8 please do come and see me!

South East Open Studios!
I shall be in my Studio in Rochester the first and third weekends in June when I am again participating in South East Open Studios. Exciting April!

I am delighted to have had two paintings selected for the Folkestone Art Gallery Spring Show. This will be a Group Show open from 31st March until 30th April.

FSTONE ART GALLERY is based in the heart of Folkestone’s Creative Quarter. Exhibiting the work of local artists to further afield, this unique space is spread over two floors. The top floor features small original artworks, prints, ceramics, unique mid century furniture and plants. Downstairs is a more traditional gallery space holding exhibitions with larger original artworks and sculptures.

Besides this amazing opportunity, I shall be holding my annual SOLO Show at The HORSEBRIDGE GALLERY in Whitstable. ‘The Wild Side’ runs from 11th April to 25th. My work will feature my latest paintings which are loose and exciting, focusing on the feelings and emotions evoked by the state of the tide and weathers at various times of day and year.

This gallery is in the heart of Oyster Country, the Oyster Farm is just behind the gallery and at low tide you can see the oyster beds, and men working them. Oysters are a delicacy available in local restaurants
