I would like to wish all my friends and art lovers a very happy Christmas and to thank you all for your support and interest in my work over the past year
Covid has been a difficult time for everyone but especially for an artist who loves to go out to paint and be at the seaside! My year started by building a new studio cabin in my garden which has been amazing for me to continue painting. My artwork has changed a lot as I have been painting from memory and imagination. I think this has been a good thing but I am now desperate to get out there again and recharge my batteries – as the great Ken Howard says – I need to move forward and develop my ideas.
Enough of that! I have had a great year of exhibitions starting with Open Studios in my garden and moving swiftly on to a wonderful two weeks in The Horsebridge at Whitstable and Bluewater with Under the Rainbow events in October. I continue to exhibit with Eclectic Art Gallery in Margate and Nucleus Arts in Chatham / Rochester whilst my exhibitions in the US with Michael Joseph sand in Italy and Portugal have resulted in a couple of sales.
I am currently exhibiting in a group show at the Nucleus Halpern Gallery in Chatham High Street (opposite Iceland) and I shall be particpating in the Xmas Market at Nucleus in Chatham on Saturday 18th December – cards, mugs, prints, framed work and calendars available.
Brexit has taken its toll; one large painting travelled all round France going back to the Paris Gallery and then Nice before eventually coming home after 4 weeks. My latest consignment to Florence is still stuck in customs after nearly six weeks.
I look forward to a New Year starting by visiting the Bath Art Fair the last weekend in February moving on to The Horsebridge in April / May. I particularly would like to thank the lovely people who have found my paintings on this web site, it has proved wonderful as a means of showing my work and some sales for which I am most grateful.
I wish you all the best for 2022 and lets hope we shall be safe and able to get out and about more.
